The road to fitness is paved with good intentions…

It’s been a while since I made time to write a blog post, life has simply been too busy. Between my children, clients and friends, I have been off running 5K’s (well, making running like movements) and walking night marathons. I had every intention of doing monthly or even weekly blogs but, well, we all know about good intentions. Anyway, this week saw the start of my personal 8-week challenge to whip my body back into shape after not weight training for over 6 weeks. I took my photos, measurements, wrote myself a 4-day workout plan, and optimistically set my … Read More

Tis the season for health and fitness… actually… it’s the season for love.

I love reading about health and fitness; books, blogs, articles, even social media posts. I follow health and fitness writers, nutritionists, personal trainers, physiotherapists, psychologists, and more. We are never in danger of learning too much; knowledge and information are important. Recently I’ve been following (only on social media, mum) someone called John Kim who is known as the AngryTherapist. It’s one of the busiest times of the year for gyms as one resolution people often make is to get fitter, healthier and or to lose weight. However, according to research, most have already given up on their New Year resolutions by 8 p.m. on the first Friday after the holiday period is over. Why do so many people start diets or a new fitness regime and give up so quickly? I am as guilty … Read More

Challenges: Will they make you or break you?

As I write this, at 4:20 p.m. on a sunny Friday afternoon, it is with hot water bottles on my knees. They are so painful it feels like someone is turning screws inside them. I am wrapped in a fleece yet shivering with flu like symptoms and I barely have the energy to press the keys on my laptop. Had you seen me earlier, you wouldn’t recognise me as the same person. This morning I had a client for a 45 minute 1-1 boxing session at 8:30 a.m. followed by fitness classes from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. where I … Read More
